Udupi, Apr 15: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) took out a road show around Udupi on Monday, April 14.
Addressing the people gathered on either side of the road, the party’s Lok Sabha candidate S M Gurudeva criticized the prime opposition party for indulging in corruption and not delivering on promises made before the formation of its government.
“The Congress party has been busy all these ten years shielding corrupt politicians and facilitating them to get away from the law. The Congress was instrumental in the rampant corruption that has forced the country onto the back foot. The growth rate in the country has declined due to this factor,” he said.
Leaving no stone unturned, in his barb targeted against his opponents, he said, “The BJP in the state has failed to cater to the hopes of the people. They had promised round-the-clock power supply, holistic redressal of farmers’ problems, and many other such solutions. But the party was seen in alleged de-notifications, creating a ruckus in the assembly, and other scams. This was against the expectations of the people who had given the mandate to the party in the last assembly elections.”
Gurudeva claimed that of the 50,000 people whom he met personally, 200 spoke about Modi, thus clarifying that there was no Modi wave in the constituency. He also expressed confidence of winning with a margin of one lac votes.
