Mangalore: Nalin promises to explore tourism potential of DK district

Mohan Kuthar
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 14: "During the two previous terms of its misrule, the Congress exploited the terrorism potential of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district. But, during the union government's term under Narendra Modi, the BJP will explore tourism potential of the district," said Dakshina Kannada MP and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from this constituency, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was addressing a public electioneering meeting that was organized under the leadership of zilla panchayat (ZP) member, Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyar, at Mudipu within Kurnad ZP constituency.

Nalin recalled that during the NDA government's rule headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the country was developed with 'India Shining' vision. "During the period of Manmohan Singh government spanning over the last ten years, India has slipped to the edge of abyss. Therefore, we should build a country that is devoid of Congress party. Terrorist activities, which mainly were concentrated in and around Kashmir in the past, have spread their tentacles all over India during the last decade.

"The only contribution Congress made to DK district is terrorism. Narendra Modi, during his visit to the district, held discussions with leaders about his vision of developing the district as tourist destination. He has proposed sanctioning a separate railway divison to Mangalore, providing employment by setting up IT park in barren land, upgradation of the port, and developing special agricultural zone. If everyone joins hands with Modi, these dreams can be realized," he added.

BJP district president, Pratap Simha Nayak, vice president, Chandrahas Ullal, secretary, Ramesh Bedrolike, Kasargod district BJP general secretary, Srikant, taluk panchayat vice president, Rajeevi Kempumannu, zilla panchayat member, Satish Kumpala, and scores of other leaders and dignitaries were present.

Earlier to the programme, a motor bike rally which wound its way through Naringana,Boliyar and Pajeeru, was organized.

Veteran BJP leadaer, Rajaram Bhat, welcomed. Divyaraj Shetty hosted the programme. Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyar proposed vote of thanks.

    Dear Nalin Kumar Kateel,
By the feedback people are getting from Mangalore, it is likely that you come successful in the election this time too and enter the Parliament for second term and Govt will be headed by Sri Modi.Though the survey report say that you achieved 6th position among MPs working system and No.1 position in utilization of MPs development fund,I being a permanent resident of Mangalore city would suggest you few points for your future career.
1.Do not forget that as per Modism you are a SEVAK of the people and not only MP.
2.Former MP late Ullal Srinivas Mallya be your role model for discharging duties as elected representative.
3.Shun shaalu sanmaana, accepting costly garlands from people, because these things will detract you from the responsibility.
4.Be simple in your dress code..eg., Late Ulla Srinivas Malla, great leader George Fernandes were very humble in their dress codes.
5.For Gods sake do not hurt/get provoked from any source to speak against any religion.Because BJP accepts "sarva dharna sama bhaav".Also do not go to pampering any religion, while following your religion respectfully.
6.Visiting temples, churches, mosques are all personal matters and therefore do not give media publicity to such issues.
7.Try to be in the middle of the people always to listen their woes.
8.Poverty is the biggest curse for humans and therefore please prioritise your programmes always in favour of this segment.
9.Always be in the company of respectable personalities across political groups and avoid criminals/rowdy sheeters.
10.I Firmly believe that when you work for the poor, will get a tremendous amount of self satisfaction and use the MPs development funds for poor welfare .
11.You have good backing like BJP Dist President Sri Pratap Simha Nayak who is very respectable and simple and other good office bearers.
These are only indicative and not exhaustive and people wish to see you as a second Ullal Srinivas Mallya.
    Wish you all the best.

For the last 23 years, DK constituency is represented by BJP MPs only. The people of Padil-Bajal area and Mahakalipadpu area are protesting for all these years for construction of over bridge or underground bridge at the padil railway gate and Mahakalipadpu railway gate. But due to the inaction by the BJP MPs, all these years, it is not constructed so far. Now it is the right time to go against BJP candidate, as Nalin Kumar Kateel is seeking re-election

For all the guys crying foul, if you are the voters who wanted Siddu in Bangalore, you are the very people responsible for and will be responsible for your belly aching. Last time you voted Nalin, while UPA was returning to power. He was a "mere" member of parliament suited for warming opposition benches. That was the mandate Mangalore gave to its MP...do nothing but warm opposition benches. Can you blame him for non-development of DK while you wanted it that way by knowing or unknowingly sending a MP with tied hands and legs? With the comments here, it is clear that you "intelligent" guys are just about to repeat the same mistake. Vote JP to power when Modi is clearly going to be at helm of affairs. Please excuse me, but now you are doing even better, sending a 76 year old to warm opposition benches. Please, oh please think what mandate, we gave. You reap what you sow...as simple as that...!!!!
Think Global and work local is the mantra. Else you will will end up wasting these very columns when you are older by 5 years all once again.

Dear Pradeep, Mangalore- you are 100% correct. As long as BJP backed moral police operate in Mangalore, the city can NEVER develop in tourism or anything else for that matter. There are no takers for thousands of vacant flats in Mangalore, thanks to the moral police. Business has hit rock bottom due to this social evil. Even professional colleges are facing a threat due to this so called moral policing.

Poojary might have a big mouth, but he will at least get the job done and is a uniting figure who will ensure that no one is above the law, i am certain he will do something constructive unlike NKK who got 24th rank for doing NOTHING.

Mr.Kateel, you want mangalore to be a tourist hub?
First of all you need to ban so called protectors of Indian culture and also your good friends - BD,HJV,Ram Sena.

In places like Goa and Kerala, foreign tourists have lot of freedom to do whatever they want and wear(or not wear) whatever they want.
The locals dont oppose as they are busy with their own work.
Here you have people snooping on couples in Kundapur park and beating up women in pubs.

    Mangalore is tarnished forever.
It has some of the best and cleanest beaches in the country
A great chance for making it a tourist hub is gone.

The only way possible is if someone like Manohar Parikkar threatens to break the legs of moral police in Mangalore also.

Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel’s mother tongue is Tulu. He spoke in the parliament about Tulu language to include in the languages charter of the Constitution.

WHERE AS HE NEVER SPOKE A SINGLE SENTENCE IN TULU IN THE PARLIAMENT OR EVEN A WORD OF TULU HE SPOKE IN THE PARLIAMENT. The only one Tulu word he spoke in parliament was the word itself i.e., TULU.

For the last five years Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel never accomplished anything to the district people.

    1) He never spoke a single word about the Church attacks.

    2) He never spoke a single word against pub attack.

    3) He never spoke a single word against Home stay attack.

    4) He never spoke a single word against Rave party at St. Mary’s Island.

    5) Because of him Nanthoor highway, Mangalore unaccomplished.

    6) Because of him and BJP leaders didn’t allow four lanes national highway at Brahmara Kutlu.

..Nalin with little help from Central Congress Govt has utilised MP funds for development works, no corruption, ranked top in independent survey by NGO & TIMESNOW..what other acheivment we can expect when there is virtually no central Govt, no PM..it was running like headless chicken..almost 3 years they are only behind MODI, no other works..revelation by PM advisor & Coal secretory clearly indicates THAT there is no PM, no Govt in the last 5 years..No one listened cared Manmohan..Manmohan was ed just to sideline Mukherjee!! people who questions Nalin first list out Jannanna, Oscar, Moily achievment/gift to DK/UDUPI..Congress polarising votes with new tactis & minorities clinging to single party only helping this corrupt party to gain power..if still people wants UPA to rule India directly or indirectly it will disastrous..

Dear Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel the MP's fund of Rs 25 crore is a huge amount and where have you used it or kept it as a deposit in your own name?

And again you are telling us that you are going to explore and only explore the possibilities of the TOURISM in DK. Wow, what a fantastic idea Sir? So another 5 years term to explore and then with another 25 crore disappear in incognito? Enough is enough.

Karnataka is a beautiful place. About 10 years back, I visited Kodaikanal, ooti and surprised to see the visitors from all over India. I was happy and on the way back to Mangalore from Bangalore I saw beautiful places even better than Kodaikanl, Ooti and were good for development i.e. tourism. I thought why our kanaranaka Government is not taking interest to develop these tourist spots. I judged that our ruling parties are not interested. If there is change in politics than the change will come. People elected BJP to power. But these people were interested only in Bellary illegal mines, land grabbing, corruption… Now again they are promising the people with the promise that they will promise to explore tourism potential of DK district????

    Hi Stan,
Politics aside, if you are a nature lover like me I sometimes think it is better if these beautiful natural surroundings in our Karnataka state stay untouched by developers and tourists.
Most Indian tourists actually pollute these places by throwing garbage, leftover food, etc. and show scant respect when it comes to retaining the beauty of these places.
Some years ago the colour of the lake water in Ooty (Tamil Nadu) looked 'green' due to pollution. I heard it was recently cleaned.

Agumbe and charmadbghat sections are best for hill station and Chikmaglur one of the best jungle and combination of resort..no development been carried out till now by both governments neither congress and Bjp. BJP looted Bellary mines and congress supported the estate owners to encroach the forest land for estate. 20yrs back these estate owners have only 15 acres now they have 250 acres extended towards forest by the grace congress.

There was a bike rally in Belthangadi.
    It was organized by CONgress.
This rally is not expected to contribute to the 'shortage of petrol' or 'Hike in price' because there were only a handful of bikes.
That way BJP bike rallies are harmful (CO2 emission is very high)

Making money and representing people in Worlds second largest democratic parliament are two different issues. We need educated MPs to represent us. We need them to understand what are the issues. We need someone who can have the same wavelength as the general public. Especially Mangalore which is easily the educational hub in Karnataka. Apart from developing Tourism, we need Metro or Mono Rail from Kundapur to Kasargod at least, one Cricket Stadium in Mangalore region, continuous of “Vajpayee Gram Sadak Yojana” in the interior region, give proper autonomy to the Police Department to control “Social Enemies” and completion of NH66 works on war foot. Strengthen Mangalore Municipality Corporation to check illegal business activities so that you can keep “Various Dal” activists at Bay. And the last one is stop recruiting outsiders for Government Jobs in Mangalore or Udupi region. We give more number of highly educated students in our region but yet we can see more Keralites or North Indians occupied most of the Central Government Jobs in our region

Yes Dear Anil, When they started their agitation against corruption along with Anna Hazaare and after forming AAP, I thought we got an alternative to control the menace. But when they got elected by Delhi people and gave mandate to rule the State even though they were not in majority, what they did? Formed Government with the help of “Mother of Most Corrupt Party”? We can understand the “Marriage of Convenience” in India Politics but why did they left Delhi in between? So, they need to take control of “Panchayat Rule” first, then “Town rule” then “City Corporation” and then State and final marching to Lok Sabha…. India is in crisis now, so, we need “Crisis Handling PM” like NaMo only for time being………
