Bangalore: BJP moves EC against Ananthamurthy for anti-Modi campaign

Bangalore, Apr 7 (PTI): The BJP today moved the Election Commission seeking action against Jnanpith awardee U R Ananthamurthy for making personal attacks on Narendra Modi and campaigning for the Congress.

"Ananthamurthy is currently the Chancellor of a Central University at Gulbarga; it is not fair on part of an individual who is holding Chancellor's position to campaign on behalf of a political party," BJP said in its petition to Chief Electoral officer Anil Kumar Jha.

Calling it a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct, it said this also amounts to abuse of Chancellor's position.

Ananthamurthy was "speaking like congress spokesperson", it said taking a dig at him for "misusing" freedom of speech by making personal attacks on Modi. BJP asked for suspension of Ananthamurthy from the Chancellor's position and legal action against him.

The party said Ananthamurthy had called Modi communal who is on his way to divide the nation in the name of religion. It said the writer had also threatened to leave the country if Modi becomes the Prime Minister.

The petition was submitted by party joint spokesperson Malavika Avinash, state legal cell Convenor Vinod Kumar and Media Cell Convenor S Prakash.

Ananthamurthy and another Jnanpith award winner Girish Karnad have been at loggerheads with BJP and Sangh Parivar and both were joined by some Kannada writers last week in attacking Modi and speaking against his becoming Prime Minister.

When this Art-of-Cheating Guruji attracts foreigners to his Ashram and loot them in the name of Sudarshan Kriya, at that time he never thinks of his Religion, because easy Money has no Religion.

There is possibility of BJP forming a government in India in 2014.The day they released manifesto with a hidden so called cultural agenda of Ram Mandir means all the so called alliances will reject the offer even after winning the elections at their constituencies.

Sad people migrate from Mangalore to Austrilia still does not know what is the meaning of corruption .if it is in Australia or India or any Monarchy ruled country court decide and gives verdict on corruption.Sadlly few people hear only corruption news of Congress party. What happened a CM who was not ready for Lokayuktha in his so called devalpoed state done how much corruption. In congress atleast corruption come out to public. But again this is subject to court verdict .Any individual can join and support any party he or she likes.Whatever the reason it is better to be in India rather migrating other country where they look at migrants as stranger.

Resignation of Chancellor, resignation of President of India, resignation of PM of India, resignation of Ministers, resignations of CMs, resignation of PEONS in Government offices, resignations of chaiwala boys in the Government offices -
These are constantly demanded by BJP\RSS - that is the only thing did as opposition.
And they are asking people to vote them.
I wonder how people can really vote them....
They have not done anything deserving during their role in opposition that makes them eligible for votes from the public, but should be told to improve upon their manners and performance and will be considered for next election.

Mr. U.R. Ananthmurthy, don't worry, if you want to leave India permanently (after Mr. Modi becomes PM). You can migrate to Australia, with your experience & knowledge you will be able to get a job as a professor in one of the Australian Universities. Get paid handsomely.
But when Australian Federal or state elections approach, please don't support or endorse any political party openly, you may be kicked out and deported back to India permanently.
We don't know what is the reason behind you openly supporting and campaigning for most corrupt and useless party like congress and abusing Mr. Modi, being a chancellor of central University at Gulbarga, you have disgraced that position and violated election commissioners code of conduct. Now you have realized your mistake and made a U-Turn and apologized. Well educated and respected person like you should stay out of politics and do social work and work for the development of Kannada language, hope god gives you some common sense.
Cheer up Mr. Ananthmurthy, there is life other than politics.
    Cheers.
