Panaji, Jun 12: Goa police and Konkan railway officials had  a panicky afternoon when they received a communication that a bomb was planted on the Nizamuddin Trivendraum Rajdhani express.

The train which was supposed to reach Margao railway station in Goa at 2.50 reached 35 minutes later. Goa police with its dog squad and bomb disposal squad combed entire Margao railway station and later searched the train when it arrived on the platform.

"Nothing objectionable was found in the 25-minute search and we let the train pass on," Konkan railway public relation manager Baban Ghatge stated.

The communication about the bomb was received by railway protection force team at Margao railway station from northern railway. Some anonymous caller had  informed about planting of bomb on the rajdhani express which had left Nizamuddin station in Delhi, yesterday.

Earlier, checking was done at Vasai railway station in Maharashtra, railway officials stated. But since the caller had threatened to blow off the train, the railway authorities took no chance, he explained.

The train would be checked further down its journey and strict vigil was kept on every passenger boarding and getting down from the train.
