Very sad that tragic incident has took place to someone who is known for sincerity and dedication
you guys are commenting on usage of govt jeep and most of you know don't know that a DCP's wife and children can use the vehicle for their travel and safety purposes and it is ridiculous to say that they cannot use the police jeep that too when the officer is busy in his election duties.....
we will have to blame these bus drivers who drive rashly and carelessly and the KSRTC driver should be punished. And please stop commenting on the usage of the police jeep.

There is lot of discussion on use of official vehicle for personal use. There is a provision by govt that officers can pay use govt vehicle for personal use. He paid for it. Anyone can check. When officers esp police work 24 by 7 . Are in charge of more than one department. Dnt have time to eat or sleep. Are over worked. Fatigued. Dnt have time for family. Why don't ppl ask u r being paid for 8hrs. Why are you working for sixteen hours. If police ppl start calculating the how we are paid we should work then god save this country. Mr. Labhu never took leave because of his dedication to work. So now being kids holidays his wife took a decision to take kids out for three days for change. People we are humans like you. We have family kids n feelings like you. Treat us like humans. When a police officer goes to Naxalites are which he can avoid. No one is forcing him. He doesn't think my salary is so less why shud I go. When on holidays n festivals when u all are enjoying with family policemen are working. We just sit in our room and hear you ppl rejoicing. Mr. Labhu is an extremely dedicated sincere police person this dept. is proud of.

Why most of you are worried on Tax payers Money ?. Of course I am also a sincere tax payer. But Mr. Laburam is more concerned on tax payers money than all of you. I know 3 incidents when he was SP at different districts, when the suppliers of Road safty equipments tried to supply sprurious materials, this officer Mr. Laburam
sent back the whole consignment back to the supplier. I salute him in respect. He has saved lot of money of tax payers.This is kwon to only few like me. Pls do not insult this young officer. You and I get 8 hours of sound sleep. Where as Police do not get. Let us not snach that minimum sleep they get by commenting very stongly on this issue.

The police have all the trick to manipulate the truth and fabricate a different story. Here it is their own official's wife involved so definitely that may not be the fact.
There should be an inquiry to find the truth and not punish the KSRTC driver by the police report. But of late the KSRTC drivers too have become notorious and speeds their bus to kill.

I have been travelling in this bus since my childhood (for nearly more than 20 years) and this is the most preferred bus by all Chikmagalureans because of the experienced and safe driving of the driver. This is the bus which did not have any accident history. May be the story is incorrect or the driver has been changed recently.. God knows what's true

dear friends.......their is an provision to use govt officials to their personnel use above gazetted level......but its a bad time happen like that.. we all sad for that incident bcz we too working in same dept... labu ram sir is a obedient, loyaly and discipline in their work and behavior... god will not disappoint for such a good person... one thing all the drivers should follow traffic rules and to drive slowly its very useful and control these sad incidents.....lets we pray who died May their soul rest in peace and who was injured lets come back soon to theie father shelter come back soon by heath..........

Why not the other way round - bolero rammed into KSRTC? Already KSRTC driver was blamed and fixed! There seems to be prejudice against KSRTC driver from the beginning?! is because of death or police department family & staff involved?

Not to add Ghee on the Fire, But I would like to know why she was using the official vehicle of her Husband for personal use, that too for travelling long distance.. May be the wrong time to ask this question, but if this incident would not have occurred, and this misuse of vehicle would have come to known by the media, then am sure Every one in this form would have criticized the dept. So as now too..
I just pray at least her 2 children and another person to recover from the injury, and May her n Drivers soul rest in peace.

I ply on Udupi Karkala Road every weekend. KSRTC Buses have become a big nuisance on this road coz' of their rash driving. I got myself and my vehicle saved from the clutches of these monsters many a times. They are not only rash in driving, but curt and rude in their behavior also. Especially these drivers do not slow down even near the curvy roads as well.RTO should take serious action on these errant drivers of KSRTC/NWKSRTC buses.
May the departed souls RIP and the injured get well soon.

For all the commentators who have commented about the use of official vehicle for personal use, which seems to override all the natural human compassion during such tragic situation, and focus only on the "Wrong" that has been committed, this reminds me of an incident in the Bible when a Prostitute is caught red handed and bought to Jesus for Justice as the prevailing mosaic law condemns such woman to be killed by stoning and then Jesus says and I quote “John 8:7 King James Version (KJV) 7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”!

Very sad incident indeed, May their soul rest in peace. This is probably the right time to introspect what is happening in our civil society. In most of the cases, the government vehicles and drivers are solely used for their families which should have been used for 24 hour patrolling by SPs/Dy SPs/Constables in rotation.

I know a case where SP's/Dy SPs use constables to cut vegetables in the kitchen, massage his body in the evenings and when the boss wants to watch a movie with family members and in case they are caught up in heavy traffic, the theater cannot start the movie until they arrive! These are real examples, even got highlighted in Amir Khan's show Satyameva Jayate recently.

There is a sharp increase in KSRTC buses around Mangalore. They should have been better than our usual city and express bus drivers, they are turning out to be the worst. Govt must take this into notice, before lot many lives are lost because of carelessness.

Sadly, many have disagreed with the view that the official machinery was misused AND this precisely is the root cause for the sorry state of affairs in our country. But discipline goes a long way in shaping our life. Had the SP been disciplined and duty conscious, he would have saved his family. But ultimately it is God who decides our fate. Truly tragic. But why were they using the government vehicle for their travel to Dharmasthala? Government vehicles are supposed to be used by government servants for duty, not for their personal use. A classic example of misusing taxpayers' money.
