by reciprocal arrangement with Star of Mysore

Mysore, June 10: The bodies of two boys and a girl, all students from city, were recovered this morning from a lake at Alagayyannahundi near Mellahalli on Bannur Road about 12 kms from here.

One of the boys has been identified as Vinay (29), son of Dr. Manjunath, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Veeranagere and a resident of Yadavagiri.

Another is identified as C.R. Manjunath (19), son of C. Rangaiah, a resident of MCC Quarters in Vontikoppal.

The third victim Amrutha (16), was the daughter of Shanthakumar, Proprietor of Amrutha Lodge in Mandi Mohalla. She was a II PU student of Mahajana College while Vinay was doing his I year BBM in Vidyavardhaka College.

Mysore Rural Police led by Inspector Kantharaju rushed to the village on receiving information from the villagers that a motorbike and a scooty were found abandoned on the banks of the lake.

The Police who could not ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or accident, fished out the bodies from the lake with the help of divers.

The bodies have been brought to the K.R. Hospital mortuary.

Some members of the family of a victim told Star of Mysore that the victims had left Mysore last evening to participate in a jatra festival at Mellahalli.
