Bangalore, Mar 12: Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said "the party’s Parliamentary Board will take a suitable decision on accommodating the loyalists of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and the merger of B Sriramulu’s BSR Congress."
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Tuesday, Naidu said "Yeddyurappa has given certain suggestions to the party’s national president Rajnath Singh."
``It is not correct to term the suggestions of the former chief minister as grievances,” he said asking the media not to create problems for the BJP, where none exist.
Naidu said the party’s Parliamentary Board would definitely look into the suggestions of Yeddyurappa and take appropriate decisions.
``Yeddyurappa is our leader,” he said clarifying that the charges of corruption against him were yet to be proved. The very fact that BJP has given the party ticket to Yeddyurappa to contest from his home district of Shimoga shows the regard that the party has for him,” he said.
The senior BJP leader said the party was definitely in favour of merger of BSR Congress with BJP. ``However, the final decision has to be taken by the Parliamentary Board,” he said.
He said the party will release another list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in New Delhi on Thursday.
The senior BJP leader said if the BJP-led NDA formed the government in Delhi, it will certainly review all the ``last hour” decisions of the Congress-led UPA regime.
``The appointment of defeated Delhi chief minister Sheila Dixit as the governor of Kerala despite the Congress-supported AAP government Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged corruption charges in the Commonwealth Games will also be examined,” he declared.
Naidu said the appointment of Ms Dixit close to the date of announcement of poll dates was nothing but an act of desperation to protect her from the Commonwealth Games scam trials.
The Congress, which has realised that it will not come to power in the elections, has been misusing the powers, he alleged.
Naidu said the BJP is growing stronger everyday with many regional parties joining the NDA to support its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Though BJP does not use the word ˜untouchable,” it is a fact that the Congress is becoming untouchable and weaker with many parties deserting the UPA, Naidu added.
