Mangalore, Feb 17: The city is on high alert ahead of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rally on Tuesday February 18 as part of 'Bharata Gellisi' programme. Nehru Maidan, the venue for the rally, is abuzz with activity with BJP leaders and party workers giving a final touch to the preparations.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday February 17, Dakshina Kannada BJP president Pratap Simha Nayak said, "Tomorrow’s rally will be historic for Dakshina Kannada. About 1.5 lac activists from 1,600 booths of Dakshina Kannada, and 1,000 from Udupi district, will be attending the rally. Four LCD screens will be placed inside the Maidan and two screens will be placed outside."
BJP vice-president Bhanuprakash said, “Modi will be welcomed in a unique way as per Tulunadu traditions. He will be presented with a ‘Muttale’. There will be a patriotic song programme from 2 to 3 pm.
On this occasion, MLA Sunil Kumar, Yogish Bhat, and Krishna Palemar were present.
