Mangalore, Jan 31: Karnataka state Sunni Yuvajana Sangha, Kotekar held a free mass marriage ceremony for the second year in succession at Kotekar Noor Mahal here on Thursday, January 30.
Al Hajj Qazi Musliyar Bekal who inaugurated the programme and led the five free Nikha ceremonies called upon the couples to use their wealth and themselves for the betterment of society. He explained the importance of the programme. Leading businessmen and religious heads were on the dais.
Five couples - Salman-Arifa, Sulaiman-Sabeena, Abdul Salam-Mariyamma, Saifulla-Afeeza and Mohammed Ghouse-Ayishatul Farzana tied the knot. Near 2,000 people participated in the programme.
Secretary N S Umar delivered the keynote address. Nazeer proposed vote of thanks.
