Mangalore, Jan 30: The PG Department of Management Studies at St Aloysius College, Beeri, inaugurated the management club and officially flagged off the ‘Insignia 2014’, a national level B-School competition, the flagship event.
Dr Ronald Fernandes, principal correspondent of Deccan Herald graced the occasion as the chief guest and Nithin Raj, entrepreneur and founder of Ouola.com who is the title sponsor of Insignia 2014 was the guest of honour.
Dean academics Dr Rowena Wright welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a key note address given by Dr Ronald. He emphasized the importance of not forgetting out basics when climbing the corporate ladder.
A video presentation on the various activities of Management Club was shown which included ‘ManasaManthana’- A national level B-plan contest for budding entrepreneurs.‘Sanjeevani’– A blood donation camp, supporting a social cause.Pragathi- A Biannual symposium. ‘Utkarsh’- A Sports meet which includes both rural and mainstream games.
Insignia is the flagship event of the Management club. The official logo of Insignia 2014 was also released. The chairman of MBA department Dr Oswald Mascarenhas then, presented a bird’s eye view of what Insignia 2014 is all about explaining the integrated business management concept and also throwing some light on achieving design thinking using systems thinking approach.
Insignia 2012 was about a quest of the blue ocean and Insignia 2013 the contestant’s explored breakthrough innovation.
Post inauguration, Sathya Shankar of Ouola.com team introduced to us the concept of Artificial intelligence and the process of Ouola.com, which is a website primarily aimed to cater the shopping, real estate and professional needs. The official web site is said to out in February.
