Bangalore, Jan 27: Archbishop of Bangalore Dr Bernard Moras felicitated wheelchair tennis ace Boniface Prabhu in Bangalore on Republic Day.
The felicitation to the wheelchair tennis star, Boniface Prabhu, was accorded on Sunday, January 26, the concluding day of the novena for Our Lady of Perpetual Succor and Feast day of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor at Holy Ghost Parish at Davis Road, Bangalore.
Boniface Prabhu, belongs to the Holy Ghost Parish in Bangalore.
Boniface Prabhu has been honored by nation with Padma Shri for untiring afford and prize for the challenge.
Both the Archbishop and the Parish Priest Fr Jacob Britto exalted the realm of spirit in Boniface Prabhu that made him reach the heights in sports.
A thanks giving prayer was offered with Boniface Prabhu by both the Archbishop and the Parish Priest. Along with the tennis star, his family was also honoured in the midst of thousands of devotees for his great contribution in the field of sports (wheelchair tennis).
Archbishop Moras said Boniface Prabhu was an exemplary example for disproving the defect of disability in our human body and the power of overcoming the hurdles.
Boniface Prabhu is one of the pioneers of wheelchair tennis in India and a guiding force for many wheelchair tennis players.
Boniface is ranked India's number one wheelchair tennis player, second in Asia and world number twenty four.
