Mangalore, May 17: A four-year-old boy was crushed to death after a pillar supporting the gate collapsed at Krishnapur IV Block near Suratkal here on Tuesday May 16.

Mohammad Shafique (4), son of Mohammad Sharif of Krishnapur IV Block was playing with neighbouring children near the house gate. Just then the pillar supporting the gate collapsed. As a result Mohammad Shafique sustained serious injuries.

He was immediately admitted to a private hospital for treatment.  But he succumbed to the injuries later.

A complaint has been filed in the Suratkal police station in this regard.
