Mangalore: Over 50 Rahul Gandhi banners damaged - Congress to protest

Mangalore, Dec 19: The Congress party leaders and activists have alleged that more than fifty of their banners put between Maravoor and Karkala have been deliberately damaged. They claim that it is the work of anti-social elements to insult the Congress party and its leaders.
The party has said that four generations of the Gandhi family have made sacrifices for the nation and the Congress party to build the country as one of the strongest in the world. They had displayed more than 100 banners, showing party national vice-president Rahul Gandhi, from Maravoor to Karkala, out of which over fifty were found to be destroyed, the party said.
The party has said that it will be holding a rally from Mijar Bolechar to Kaikamba on December 22, at 2.30 pm to protest against the act.
Former union minister and national leader of Congress party, B Janardhana Poojary will flag off the rally. A vehicle rally will proceed till Bajpe police station to submit a memorandum in this regard. Vijayanath Vittal Shetty, a party leader has urged people to participate in the protest march.
