Mangalore, Dec 5: In its 40th year of learning, the students and faculty members of Roshni Nilaya psychology department went down the memory lane. The occasion was a regional workshop 'Inflow' organised on Thursday December 5 the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya.
The 40-year journey was showcased in a power point presentation which recreated the memories and times spent at the college.
The programme began with a prayer song. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guests in a unique way by filling water into a bowl filled with colourful thermacol beads.
Students from other colleges also participated in the programme.
Former principal of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya Dr Olinda Pereira was felicitated on the occasion. In her address, she said "Every kind of work should have a small beginning. It is the only right way to grow which will bring satisfaction and happiness. I want to thank everyone for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be here."
A souvenir titled 'Cognisance - a Recap' was released on this occasion. It contains the experiences related by former principals, staff, faculty and students during their tenure at Roshni Nilaya.
Dr Audrey Pinto, HoD of counseling department, Roshni Nilaya was also honored for her dedication and hard work for the college. Dr Audrey Pinto has conducted many workshops and has worked for welfare for the aged.
Ratna Pinto was the resource person for the one-day workshop.
