Mangalore: Fight breaks out in jail - Undertrial, two personnel injured

Mangalore, Dec 5: The district jail here once again witnessed a group fight between inmates on Wednesday December 4, resulting in injuries to three including two jail personnel.
The fight broke out between Ilyas from Ullal, accused in a kidnap case, and Mohammed Azhar, who was allegedly involved in the recent attempt to murder incident near the court premises at Kodialbail.
It is said that Azhar is an aide of underworld don Rashid Malabari and Ilyas is an aide of criminal Madoor Isubu.
Sources said that the fight erupted when Ilyas asked Azhar about the attempt to murder incident near the court premises for which he was arrested.
As soon as the two groups began to fight, jail officials and personnel rushed to intervene and separated the groups and put them in different rooms.
During the fight, Ilyas was hurt after he dashed against the carrom board. He was taken to Wenlock hospital.
Also, two jail personnel sustained minor injuries, sources said.
Barke police arrived at the jail and took appropriate action.
