Mangaluru, Jan 20: The second day of the Kite Festival at Tannirbhavi faced setbacks due to unexpected rain, leaving attendees disappointed as they missed the colourful kites soaring in the sky. However, the enthusiasm of the crowd and participants remained unwavering.

The festival, held on January 18 and 19, featured over 22 international kite flyers who showcased their skills on the first day. Unfortunately, rain showers on Sunday, January 19, disrupted the event, frustrating the eager crowd gathered at Tannirbhavi beach to witness the kite-flying spectacle.

The rain brought increased humidity and a lack of wind, posing challenges for the kites to take flight. Despite these difficulties, the international kite flyers gave their best effort to keep the event lively and the kites airborne.

Participants, kite flyers, and spectators continued to enjoy the festive atmosphere, interacting with the international flyers and making the most of their time by the seashore.

MP Capt Brijesh Chowta visited Tannirbhavi beach during the event, where he interacted with the kite flyers and commended their performances as well as the warm hospitality extended by Mangaluru.
