Mangalore: Bishop releases Robin Cutinho's debut Konkani album 'Ashaa'

Mangalore, Dec 3: 'Ashaa', the debut Konkani album by Robin Cutinho, Bejai, was released at a ceremony held in Bejai Church at 10.30 am on Sunday, December 1 after the festal Mass.
Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop of Mangalore released the CD.
The dignitaries present were Fr Victor Machado, parish priest, Bejai Church, Fr Sunil Pinto, assistant parish priest, Fr Michael Lobo, principal, Lourdes Central School, Bejai, Fr Richard D'Souza, Augustine Rodrigues, vice-president, parish council and Shalet Patrao, secretary, parish council.
The bishop congratulated Robin on behalf of the people gathered and said that he was happy to see young talents coming up to promote Konkani culture.
Fr Victor Machado said that this album was a dedication to Steevan Melwyn Cutinha who passed away a year ago. The album comprises melodious Konkani songs, he said, requesting the gathering to buy the CD and support this noble cause.
Robin Cutinho thanked all those who worked and helped in the making of the album.
The album, produced by Robin, has 10 theme-based Konkani songs sung by various artistes. The lyrics are by Robin Cutinho, Lloyd Rego and Jocy Siddakatte, while the tunes are by Joel Pereria, Roshan V Cordeiro and Lloyd Rego. The music has been arranged by Joel Pereira, Roshan D'Souza, Roshan V Cordeiro and Stephen Frank. The album was recorded at Sandesha Digital Studio.
