People are now recognizing that mass marriages are the best way to shun the extravaganza and express one's solidarity with the economically backward section of the society.
Three Muslim couples entered wedlock during the mass marriage ceremony organized at MJM Auditorium at Chokkabettu near Suratkal here recently.
E K Ibrahim Musliyar, Khateeb of Badriya Jumma Masjid of Krishnapur VII Block carried out the 'nikah' ceremony.
Shameema, daughter of Murhoom B P Mohammad of Krishnapur and Sullaiman, son of Ahmed of Tokur, Rasheeda, daughter of Usman from Beltangady and Mohammad Mustafa, son of Moideen from Chikamagalur and Fouziya, daughter of Fareed from Kasba Bengre and Sharif K, son of Ahmed of Kasba Bengre were united in wedlock during the mass marriage ceremony organized on the 12th anniversary of Hillside Marriage Friends Circle of Krishnapur VII Block.
