Kundapur: Locals injured in bee attack

Kundapur, Nov 27: Honey bees began to attack people near Kedooru grama panchayat on November 26 in the afternoon.  Some of them are being treated at a hospital.  The bees had surrounded people passing by on panchayat road.

Sumanth, PUC student and son of Malyadi Laxman and Kedooru resident Sushila is under medications at the Kedooru medical centre and will be admitted to Kundapur government hospital for further treatment.

Some of the people attacked by the bees have gone home after recieveing appropriate treatment at Kedooru medical centre. 

Sushila, the one who has been admitted at the hospital had a child with her at the time of the attack.  The father of the child had committed suicide a few days ago.  When the bees attacked, she covered the child with her saree and sheilded the child shouting for help.  As people in the shops and on the road were busy trying to save themselves from the bees, nobody came to her rescue.

The bees continued their attack and flying into the panchayat office nearby and also stung the PDO and others there.  The bees were disturbed when the branch of a tree fell on their nest.

Congress leader Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, municipality council member Sridhara and others have visited the hospital.
