Mangalore, Nov 25: "Ever since Congress government came to power, chief minister Siddaramaiah has been dividing people by implementing various programmes restricted to a particular community, and hence we demand that he resigns," said BJP Yuva Morcha state president Muniraj.
Addressing the gathering during the protest organized by district BJP Yuva Morcha in front of the deputy commissioner's office here on Monday November 25, Muniraj said, "Chief minister Siddaramaiah who is leading the 6 crore population of Karnataka does not know about terrorist Yasin Bhatkal. By implementing programmes like Shaadi Bhagya, it is clear that the CM is in favor of only one community," he said.
Insisting that the chief minister is responsible for dividing the people on communal lines, state president said the Congress has two faces. "On one side the Karnataka CM is supporting Muslims in the state, while at the center Rahul Gandhi has been linking Muslims with the ISI," he said, adding that the government has not taken any action over love Jihad, terrorist activities and others.
Asking Siddaramaiah to think about farmers instead of supporting a particular community, Muniraj asked the CM 'to apologize for his mistake'. "We will not tolerate all these things in future and if it continues, we will intensify our protest," he added.
S V Raghavendra, state secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha said, "The chief minister does not know as to what extent he has to support a community. You (CM) tell that you have no idea about Yasin Bhatkal mainly because he is a Muslim. This is nothing but vote bank politics.
"Siddaramaiah takes decisions as he wishes without even consulting senior Congress leaders. The government fools people saying they will treat all people equally. But when it comes to free excursion to students, it is only for backward classes and minorities. This way, seeds of communal differences are sown being among children as well," he alleged.
"Ever since Congress came to power in the state, no developmental works have been undertaken. They are introducing new schemes mainly for vote bank. But when BJP was in power, it did good work for all people."
He added, "We need not ask Siddaramaiah to step down now, after Lok Sabha election, Congress itself will ask him to step down, and BJP will give the right answer to Congress by getting Narendra Modi elected as our PM," he said. "Congress has no right to point at Narendra Modi nor is it capable enough to even call his name. Already one wicket of Congress has fallen after the resignation of Santosh Lad, and by the time the election is here, all wickets will fall," he added.
State Yuva Morcha vice-president Kishore Kumar Puttur, district president Ranjan Gowda, Kodagu president Bharateshwar among others were present.
