Al Ain, Nov 25: Karnataka Sangha Al Ain celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava and Deepavali 2013 on Friday November 22 at 5:30 pm at the Food World Banquet Hall in a jam packed audience.
The programme started with welcome song 'Naada gheethe' and prayer. With the leadership of Dr Swamy, Karnataka Sangha Al Ain gave much importance to children and ladies with various competitions conducted specially promoting Kannada language and culture.
After welcome speech there was a kids dance, Jnanan peeta and diwali song rendered melodiously. Chief Guest Arun Muthugar of Kannada Koota Dubai along with his wife, executive committee members of Karnataka Sangha Al Ain and Shodhan Prasad of Nama Tuluveru UAE lighted the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
Arun Muthugar of Kannada Koota Dubai was felicitated along with his wife with shawl and flower bouquet presentation. On response to his felicitation Arun Muthugar said that there is few attempt from our own Kannadigas in promoting our mother tongue whereas citizens of other neighbouring states always try to embrace and promote their language. He said that we need to really think seriously on this issue and praised Karnataka Sangha Al Ain who are actively promoting Kannada through their activities.
All the ladies from the audience came up and lighted the deepavali lamps while the ladies group sang the deepavali song on the stage.
Fancy dress competitions for under age 8 and above 8 were conducted and we could see all the children nicely presented with colourful costumes. It was also nice to hear them speak very well in Kannada while presenting their items beautifully.
Competitions were also held for Kannada Rhymes for age group 5 to 10 years. There were quiz competitions in between every programme and spot prizes too presented to the winners.
"Nirel" the first international Tulu film team were invited to the programme and were invited on to the stage and felicitated with flowers. Shodhan Prasad the producer introduced San Poojary, co-producer, assistant directors Sachin Padil and Neha Bangera. He mentioned about director Ranjith Bajpe and art director Rajnish Amin who were on vacation and were not able to attend. He also introduced the other team comprising of stars, Anoop, Varuna, Deepthi, Deepak Paladka, Sandhya, Nindiya and specially the eye of Al Ain Karnataka Sangha, Jameel Sheikh who are all the part of Nirel team. Shodhan Prasad thanked Al Ain Karnataka Sangha for their kind gesture and requested all Kannadigas to support their new venture.
Savitha Naik compeered the programme professionally along with her co-hosts providing good entertainment for all.
Prizes were distributed to all the winners of various competitions by the chief guests.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks and sumptuous traditional dinner.
Dr Swamy along with his organizing committee comprising of Muralidhar, Jayaprakash, Sudeep, Dr Uma Swamy, Vindu Harish, Gladeus Mendonca along with other committee members were responsible for this successful programme.
