Doha, Nov 25: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, an associate organization under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, Doha, proudly celebrated its 'Founders Day' on November 12, commemorating the 25th anniversary of its formation.
The event, held at the Indian Cultural Centre’s Mumbai Hall, witnessed the presence of current and former management committee members along with senior members of the Sangha. The celebration was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by president Ravi Shetty, along with Jyothi Ravi Shetty, advisory committee chairman Mahesh Gowda, and former presidents Arun Kumar, VS Mannangi, Deepak Shetty, Madhu HK, Dr Sanjay Kudari, and Milan Arun, senior member and former president of the Indian Cultural Centre. The event also had the presence of ICC vice president Subramanya Hebbagelu, Satish BR, senior members, and current managing committee members.
In his address, president Ravi Shetty expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the former presidents, committee members, dedicated volunteers, and sponsors for their immense contributions in elevating the Sangha to its current stature. He also expressed how blessed he and his team felt to lead the Sangha during this landmark Silver Jubilee year.
As part of the celebration:
- The Rajata Geethe (Silver Anthem), written by former president HK Madhu, was officially released by Milan Arun through a live YouTube stream. The anthem received widespread applause both from the audience and on YouTube. This anthem was sung by the committee during the Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations on November 15.
- A new banner featuring the silver jubilee logo was unveiled, symbolizing the celebrations planned throughout this milestone year.
Former presidents and senior members shared their experiences and fond memories of the Sangha, reflecting on its growth and achievements over the years. The event was skillfully emceed by general secretary Kumar Swamy and concluded with sweet and light refreshments in honor of the occasion.
With a deep sense of responsibility, Karnataka Sangha Qatar proudly continues its journey of promoting Kannada culture and heritage while fostering unity among the Karnataka community in Qatar. Through relentless efforts and meticulous planning, Sangha set the stage for the grand silver jubilee celebration.
