Mangalore, Nov 13: VJ Poorvi K Rao stunned the Kuwait Kannadigas by her versatile rocking solo performances at Kuwait on the occasion of 29th Kannada Rajotsava celebration, a programme arranged by Kuwait Kannada Koota on November 8 at Cambridge School, Kuwait.
Jayanth Kaikini, noted Kannada Film lyrist, chief guest of the programme lauded and congratulated Poorvi K Rao for her excellent dance performance and handed over a Memento.
This 8 year old, multi talented girl from Mangalore presented 40 minutes programme “Namma Nada Sobagu” in which she depicted the rich culture of entire Karnataka with different dance forms (Bharatanatyam, folk, kodava, yakshagana, free style & filmy folk) in front of over 600 auspicious audience.
Poorvi is a 3rd standard student of Mount Carmel English Medium School, Mary Hill. She is learning Bharatanatyam in “Bharatanjali” Kottara from Sridhara Holla and Vidhushi Srimathi Pratima S Holla and Filmy dance in Boys Zone from Kishore Kumar.
This was her first international show and she sincerely thanks all her Gurus, well and supporters on this occasion.
Winner of over 175 prizes in dancing, singing and fancy dress competitions, Poorvi is hosting the live programme “Putani Batani” in Sahaya TV on Mondays’ between 8 pm to 9 pm.
She is a daughter of Kumaraswamy and Asha Kumaraswamy.
