Mangalore, Nov 10: ‘Jaati Dharma Mattu Meesalati’, a book by advocate B A Mohammed Haneef was released in a programme organized by Ahinda at Hotel Srinivas auditorium hall here on Sunday November 10.
The book was released by MLA Mohiuddin Bava, former minister B A Moideen and other dignitaries on the dais.
B A Moideen in his presidential address said, “The author of the book, B A Mohammed Haneef has not only been a lawyer and upheld his profession but has also been a social activist and worked for the welfare of society.”
“Jawaharlal Nehru designed the Indian Constitution and the economical structure that we have implemented, but the scientific ideology that he had spoken about has been forgotten. Faith and religion should not be tampered with, but superstition in society must end,” he added.
B A Moideen also said, “Chief minister Siddaramaiah has never been against any faith, belief or religion but he will surely eradicate superstition. We must understand each other’s community to abide by democracy and be proud on our development that has been achieved even with diversity.”
Forest minister Ramanath Rai addressing the gathering said, “If a part of the body is afflicted, it affects the entire body, and likewise, if a community is weak it affects the entire society; thus we must treat everyone as equals and help each other in coming up in society.”
MLA Mohiuddin Bava, “The book was released with an intention to enlighten the society about caste and culture and put forth the ideologies of Dakshina Kannada Ahinda community so that people live with unity and there is no discrimination. Religion, caste and creed must be kept aside as humanity is above all.”
MLA Mohiuddin Bava encouraged everyone to buy the book and promised B A Mohammed Haneef that he would buy 50 books and distribute it among the people.
Naveenchandra D Suvarna, president of Akhila Bharatha Billava Union, Dr Nikiten, Taranath Poojary, high court lawyer, Vasudeva B, VT Raj Shekhar, Rita Nahura, Harekala Hajabba, Sadanadshiva Salian and others were present.
About the Book
‘Jaati Dharma Mattu Meesalati’ is a 152-page book with 22 chapters in Kannada. This is the fourth book by Mohammed Haneef. The book speaks about the social and political welfare with respect to laws for the minority section of the society. It also deals with subjects such as women empowerment, secular states and communalization, Beary communities, dalits, minorities etc. It also rectifies wrong assumptions about different religions, mainly the Muslim community, and lastly, it propagates the Indian Constitution and humanity.
