Mangalore, Apr 1: Rajya Sabha member B Janardhan Poojary, inaugurated the four-lane and concreting project between Lady Hill and Durga Mahal (Mannagudda), on Friday March 31.

The contract has been given to Gokuldas Bhandarkar, and the first phase between Lady Hill and Durga Mahal is estimated to cost Rs 1.5 crore. The second phase of project from Durga Mahal to New Chitra Talkies will commence after the completion of the first phase.  The total cost is estimated to be Rs 3.38 crore.

Corporation Bank, Centenary Public Library, Corporation Swimming Pool, Mangala Stadium, Canara High School and Gokarnatheshwar Temple are some of the improtant landmarks that are situated along the first phase.

Also present at the inauguration were Blasius M D’Souza, MLC, K Ashraf, mayor, MCC, B Nagaraj Shetty, district-in-charge minister and D V Sadananda Gowda, BJP State president, among other corporators.
