10 killed in Sri Lankan bus accident

Colombo, Nov 5 (IANS): Ten people were killed and many others injured in a bus accident in Sri Lanka, police said Tuesday.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said the bus veered off the road in poor weather conditions in the central Bandarawala hills and went down a precipice Monday night, said Xinhua.

Rescue operations were hampered by heavy rain and poor visibility.
