Mangalore, Mar 29: Richard Pinto, owner of "City Caterers" of Adumaroli and his brother Edward Pinto were stabbed allegedly by drug addicts on Tuesday March 28 night at Adumaroli near here.
The Kankanady police have arrested Suresh Devadiga and his sons Dheeraj and Sooraj Devadiga in this regard.
A resident of Adumaroli had filed a complaint against Sooraj and Dheeraj for disturbing peace over trifle matters. Both of them are also said to be drug addicts. So the Kankanady police had summoned the duo to the station and warned them against disturbing the localites.
But thinking that Richard Pinto of "City Caterers" was the person behind people lodging complaint against them, they stabbed him with the help of their father Suresh. When Richard's brother Edward and their worker Giridhar came to rescue him, they stabbed both Edward and Giridhar too.
However, immediate intervention by localites prevented further assault on Richard, Edward and Giridhar. The three were immediately admitted to a private hospital in the city where they are recuperating slowly.
The police arrested Suresh, Sooraj and Dheeraj on Tuesday night itself as per the complaint filed on them by Walter Pinto.
