Mangalore, Mar 26: The police obtained a major headway in the Vittal counterfeit currency case with the arrest of one of the accomplice of the main accused in the case.
The Vittal police after an intense search nabbed Abdul Qader (50) of Mangilapadavu in Vittal who was involved in the Vittal counterfeit currency case.
It was during the interrogation of the main prime accused in the case Abdul Latif that the involvement of Qader was reveled. According to police sources, Qader was instrumental in fining suitable customers to put the counterfeit currency into circulation.
The manhunt for Qader ended on Friday, March 24 Qader when he was arrested boarding a bus to Kasargod at Magilapadavu bus stop.
The cops also undertook a search of the house of Qader and found 40 currency notes of Rs 500 denomination. It is also revealed that Qader possesses Rs 20,000 worth counterfeit currency notes.
