BSF trooper injured in Pakistani firing

Jammu, Oct 14 (IANS): A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was injured Monday when Pakistan Rangers fired at Indian positions along the Jammu and Kashmir border.

A police officer told IANS that the Rangers opened fire at Katau (Gagyal) area of Samba district, 60 km from here.

"The BSF jawan has been rushed to a hospital in Jammu," the officer said. The BSF fired back at Pakistani positions along the international border.

While the Indian Army guards the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the BSF is posted on the international border in the state, whose ownership is disputed by India and Pakistan.
