Mangalore: Fr Stany Pinto awarded PhD

Mangalore, Oct 3: Fr Stany Pinto was recently awarded with PhD which he completed with the thesis title “Effect of Self Designed Instructional Material in Developing Peace Awareness among the Pupils” under the guidance of  Dr Padmavathi M, associate professor- St Ann’s College of Education. 

He completed his research at St Ann’s College of Education- Research Centre- Mangalore University.


He belongs to the Sacred Heart Church, Shambhuru-Bantwal Taluk- Mangalore Diocese along with his parents Fasutine Pinto and Elizabeth Pinto. He has six sisters and three brothers.

Fr Stany completed his primary studies at the Government School- Shambhuru, high school at the Sharada High School, Panemangalore,  and college at SDM College-Honnavar.

He later went on to study theology at the St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore.

He was ordained on May 10, 2001 and he currently belongs to the Diocese of Karwar

Fr Stany’s professional qualification is as follows:

B Ed - 2001-02 -Shivaji College of Education-Karwar - fifth Rank to Karnataka University Dharwad

M A - 2003-05 - KSOU-Mysore - fourth Rank

ELT - 2006 - RIESI-Bangalore - 1st Rank  2006-07 St. Ann’s College of Education- Mangalore- 1st Rank with Gold Medal –Mangalore University

PhD - 2008-2013 - St Ann’s College of Education- Mangalore Mangalore University

He is presently an added teacher at St Joseph’s High School- Karwar and the in-charge principal at St Joseph’s P U College-Karwar.

He also is a MRP (Master Resource Person) in English for Uttara Kannada District. He has participated in many competitions which include winning the second place at the Extempore Speech Competition for the teachers at Davanagere in 2006, and has also presented two research papers on education at the International Seminars.

Fr Stany also conducts programmes as a master of Ceremony in English, Kannada, Konkani and he also comperes for all district level government programmes at Karwar.
