Udupi, Oct 2: "JCI identifies the weak in the society and brings them into the mainstream by serving them," said JCI region 15 president Sridhar P S.
He was speaking at the donation programme of artificial limbs for the physically handicapped, held under the aegis of JCI Kaup and Lanco foundation at Kaup JCI Bhavan.
Though JCI stresses on personality development, he said that people’s communication can be established by social service also.
Beneficiaries Ratnamma Katapady, Ramesh Bantakal, Dharmendra Kaup, Shalina Katpady, Albert D’ Souza Padooru and Srinivasa Acharya Palimaru were handed over necessary artificial limbs.
Regional vice president Ratnakar Indrali, Lanko Foundation official Arvind Karanth, Kaup primary health center’s Rabindranath Bolar, Uliargoli gram panchayat president Pradeep U, Industrialist Taranath Kotian, Regional director Deepak Kumar Ermal, Jaycerette president Saumya Rakesh, programme director Dinesh Shetty Kalya were present.
Kaup JCI president Rakesh Kunjur presided over the function and welcomed the gathering. Secretary Ramesh Naik thanked.
