Mangalore, Sep 30: A godown of plywood factory operating in Talapady, on Karnataka-Kerala border caught fire on Sunday September 29 night.

Strangely though, neither the police nor the fire brigade has any information of the incident. The factory people by themselves have been trying to extinguish the fire with the water from private water tankers.

The factory is in residential area and the fire may spread if not put off. Local people have alleged that the factory is operating without license and suspect that they may not have informed the authorities due to it.
