Hyderabad, Sep 25 (IANS): A day after his release on bail, YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy went into a huddle with party leaders Wednesday to devise the strategy against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan, as the MP from Kadapa is popularly known, held a meeting with MP M. Rajamohan Reddy, state legislators and other top leaders of the party to take stock of the latest political situation in the state in the wake of the Congress party's decision to carve out a separate Telangana state.

Jagan was released from jail Tuesday after nearly 16 months. In May last year, he was arrested in a corruption case.

The leader discussed the ongoing movement in Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra) against the Congress decision to divide the state, party sources said, adding that the discussion centred on how to "expose" Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP), whose MPs and state legislators are "fooling" Seemandhra people by not resigning their posts.

Both Jagan and Rajamohan and all 17 legislators of the party have already submitted their resignation to protest the manner in which the United Progressive Alliance government at the centre decided to bifurcate the state without doing justice to all regions.

At the meeting held at Jagan's Lotus Pond residence, he also discussed the strategy to strengthen the party ahead of next year's elections.

Leaders and activists of YSR Congress party, supporters from different parts of the state and people from various walks of life made a beeline at Jagan's residence to meet and greet him. The young leader was seen interacting with some of them.

Jagan's release brought cheer in YSR Congress camp as the residence-cum-party office came alive after a long time. Hundreds of party activists and visitors thronged the office to meet the young leader.

Those who called on Jagan include leaders of the striking Seemandhra employees
of the state secretariat.

One of the leaders told reporters after the meeting that Jagan said all would be done to keep the state united.

As the CBI court which granted conditional bail to Jagan has directed him not to leave Hyderabad without its permission, he is likely to move the court in the next few days for permission to tour Seemandhra.

Party sources said he may visit a few towns to address public meetings to oppose
the proposed bifurcation.
