CM, industrialists meet RSS chief in Goa


Margao, Sep 24 (TNN): The RSS cadre in Goa was infused with a strong dose of nationalism and nation-building by the organization's chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday.

Bhagwat, on a two-day visit to the state, addressed about 250 RSS senior workers at a closed-door meeting at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.

Prior to this, he had a meeting at the residence of RSS Salcete taluka chief Kiran Nayak, which was attended by chief minister Manohar Parrikar and 47 distinguished personalities.

North Goa MP Shripad Naik, BJP state organizing secretary, Satish Dhond, were among those who met Bhagwat.

From P1 Sources said at least 11 industrialists including Srinivas Dempo, Narcinv (Baba) Naik and Manoj Caculo were among the prominent who had an interaction with Bhagwat. Issues discussed included strengthening the RSS organization in the state and the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Sources privy to the Ravindra Bhavan meeting told TOI that Bhagwat, in his address, called on the swayamsevaks to be virtuous in their behaviour and upright in their deeds, with a view to making a better society and in turn strengthening the nation.

Sources said the RSS chief visits every region once a year and tours the region extensively for 4-5 days. Bhagwat is currently on a tour of the Konkan region and his Goa visit was its last leg. Goa has been included in the Konkan region for administrative purposes by the RSS.

Bhagwat arrived in Goa on Sunday and stayed at Nayak's residence. He is scheduled to leave for Mumbai on Tuesday.
