Udupi, Sep 8: The district hobli-level  Jana Spandana programme was inaugurated by district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake at Town Hall on Saturday September 7.

Speaking after the inauguration, Sorakke said, “Even after formation of new government, state government delayed in announcement of reservation for president and vice president post of urban local body. Hence High court put a stay for delayed decision and not on reservations. Earlier few members complained against reservations.”

The minister assured that the selection of members will be done shortly.

Under Karnataka Urban Development and Coastal Environmental Management Project (Kudcemp), state government will take up the second phase in Mangalore, Udupi, and Kundapur at a cost of Rs 522 crore. Rs 90 crore will be used for the drinking water, underground drainage and other basic infrastructure in Udupi, he added.

He also said that the process of changing the ration card from APL to BPL will be done soon. In the state around 30 lac people have applied for the same. In CMC limit, revenue inspector will do the needful. Earlier it was the responsibility of Tahsildar.

He appealed the officials to immediately visit and solve the problems if any crisis arises in public.

People who have inherited government land until last January are given title deeds under Karnataka Land Revenue Act Section 94-C.

DK, Kodagu, Udupi and North Canara will get relaxation under rule 9/11 Act’s. After discussions with the CM, a decision regarding the same will be taken in the next cabinet meet, he concluded.

Pramodh Madhwaraj appealed the officials to attend all the Janaspandana programmes to make it a successful event. Action will be taken against officials who skip this meeting.
