Udupi, Sep 7: A meeting was held on Thursday September 5 at the office of district police commissioner for a preventive action plan to stop theft and illegal transportation of cattle. The meeting was presided over by Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj.
SP Boralingayya, Dy S P Prabhudeva Mane and police officials from Manipal, Udupi, Brahmavar, Kota, Hiriadka and Malpe participated in the meeting.
Entrepreneurship development training in Udupi by government
An entrepreneurship development training programme is scheduled to be held under the aegis of Udupi district employment exchange and government industrial training institute at Perdoor under Study circle project.
The programme will be held at government industrial training institute at Perdoor from September 10 to September 25 between 3 pm and 5 pm. An additional two hours training will be given during government holidays. The programme consists of 34 hours of training and is completely free.
The programme is aimed at interested people and college candidates to encourage them and draw their attention towards self employment.
The training will be given by experienced teachers with MBA degree. Interested and eligible people can make use of the opportunity. Action to cover potholes on Udupi roads
In a meeting presided over by MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, the MLA said that the state highways, city and village roads in the Legislative Assembly area of Udupi have developed potholes due to incessant rain during this year.
However, as the rainy season is not over and there is moisture in the potholes, those cannot be covered immediately now. If those are filled now the filling will not last for long. So as per the suggestion of the MLA, it was decided to start the work after the second week of October, 2013.
PWD executive engineer S K Chandrashekar, assistant executive engineer K Vedavyasa Tantri, city commissioner Srikanth Rao, port and fisheries department assistant engineer-2 Jagadish Bhat, executive engineer PRD P Raja, assistant executive engineer PRD D V Hegde and junior engineers were present at the meeting.
