Panaji: ‘ Mhozo Des Mahan – 2013’ contest promoting patriotism through dance

Panajo, Aug 23: For the last three years Tiatr Academy of Goa has been organising ‘ Mhozo Des Mahan-2013’ an Inter School Choreographic dance Competition on  Konkani Songs on Patriotism, National Integration and Communal Harmony.

This year the event will be held on Monday August 26 at 10 am at the Institute Menezes Braganza Auditorium, Panaji.

The competition is held with the sole intention of promoting and inculcating the love for patriotism, National integration and communal harmony amongst the children through our mother tongue Konkani.  All together 24 schools will participate in this event. The successful groups will be presented with cash prizes besides mementos and certificates.

Dr Wilfred Mesquita, commissioner, NRI Affairs will be the chief guest. The competition will be judged by well know personalities from the dance field. Jason Viegas, Snaden Shawn and Albertina Abreu.

All are invited to witness the event and encourage the children.

    "Mhozo Des Mahan" is a constructive initiative in our nation-building enterprise. Such cultural activities that inculcate patriotism could be taken to our taluka towns of Bardez, Salcete, Mormugao, Tiswadi, Dicholi, Sattari, Sankhlli, Phonda, Sanguem, Kepe, Kankon, Dharbandora and Pedne.
