Bangalore, Feb 6: With some of the senior and top state BJP leaders likely to get their seat in the state cabinet, it is all likely that Mangalore MP and senior BJP leader from Sullia will lead state BJP.
It is said that present BJP president Jagdish Shettar in all probability will become a minister in the H D Kumaraswamy cabinet. So the seat will be vacant since another top leader Yediyurappa has already been sworn in as deputy chief minister.
This clears the way for D V Sadananda Gowda. One can recall that Sadananda Gowda was all slated to become BJP president last time itself. But owing to some high level lobbying he had to make way only for Jagdish Shettar to lead the BJP. But this time around it is quite certain that senior BJP leaders may recommend Sadanand Gowda who is a good organizer and has a very good rapport with the party workers at the root level. Moreover, he holds a 'Mr. Clean' image, which is seldom among the present day politicians.
Moreover, odds are heavily in favour of Sadananda Gowda with BJP's top brass is also likely to go in for a Vokkaliga leader to lead the party. All these factors make Sadanand Gowda a strong contender to the state BJP president's post. So Sadananda Gowda is all likely to lead BJP in the state unless some high-level lobbying once again pulls him down.
