Mysore, Aug 15: The 19th annual assembly of Karnataka Regional Conference of Religious (KRCR) was held at Prabhodana, Mysore from August 10 to 12.
Nearly one hundred major superiors and their delegated attended this event.
The meet was inaugurated by the local bishop Dr Thomas Vazhapilly. Fr Dr Archibald Gonsalves, OCD, the president of KRCR along with executive team organized the assembly. He also delivered the key note address.
Professor Nalini Singh, eminent educationist was the chief guest.
The assembly dealt on the topic ‘Innovation in Consecrated Life: Media for effective ministry’. Eminent speakers were invited to address the gathering and the last day was set aside for a joint session of the Karnataka Bishop's Conference (KRCBC) and KRCR.
Besides the major superiors and the eleven bishops of Karnataka, other dignitaries attended this joint session. This is the highest body of the Catholic Church in Karnataka gathering once in every two years. The birthday of Bishop Bernard Moras was solemnized and the bishop of Udupi was felicitated.
Fr Paul, the rector of Prabhodana extended warm hospitality. Fr Praveen Pinto, OCD the executive secretary meticulously planned the logistics of the meet, which became a grand success.
