Udupi, Feb 1: The judgment in the sensational Joseph D'Souza (45) murder on April 5 is slated to be passed on Wednesday February 1.

The hearing of the case in the Udupi Sessions Court was over on Tuesday January 31 and the judgment is expected to be passed on Wednesday.

Joseph D'Souza, a resident of Padmabhnagar near Kukkikatte here was found in the forest at Chitrabail.  The body was already in a decomposed state when it was found.  The immediate investigation had brought the entire murder episode and accused to the fore.

The investigation had revealed that Joseph’s elder brother Anthony D’Souza masterminded the murder and he had paid a sum of Rs 1 lac as supari towards the murder.  The brothers had a dispute over the family property, which led Denis to kill Joseph. Having taken the supari, his relative Denis D'Souza and one Salim had killed Joseph before dumping his body in the woods.  They had taken his body to Chitrabail on a scooter and thrown it there.

The Udupi circle inspector Praveen Naik had filed the charge sheet in the case after the arresting the accused.  Now that the enquiry is over, the entire family and relatives of Joseph are eagerly waiting for the judgment.
