Mangalore, Aug 8: Members of the VHP and Bajarang Dal staged a protest against the attack on the Indian army by the Pakistani army and against the union defence minister A K Anthony for his hidden support to Pakistan on Wednesday August 7, near PVS Circle.
An effigy of Anthony and the Pakistani flag were burnt by the agitators.
Addressing the protestors, VHP state president M B Puranik said that the Pakistani army had forcibly crossed the border and killed five Indian soldiers. “The central government really must protest against this act. But instead, it is our fate that union defence minister A K Anthony claims that it is not an act by the Pakistan army soldiers, but an act by some terrorists who came in disguised as the Pakistani army. It is clear that the Pakistani army is the prime reason behind this criminal act. Also, it is shameful of our defense minister to safeguard and protect Pakistan.”
“We pity those soldiers who have lost their battle defending their country. We need to respect our army because it is due to these soldiers that we are leading a comfortable life in our country. Likewise, we also feel bad for the act of our minister who has passed such comments on this issue,” added Puranik.
Leaders Sharan Pumpwell, Gopal Kuthar, Pradeep Pumpwell, Dinesh Pai, Pramod Suvarna, Puneeth Pumpwell, Bhujanga Kulal, Shivanand Mendon, Krishnamurthy, and Manohar Thulajaram were present.
