Mangalore, Jul 29: A fisherman from Ferry road in Bolar was feared drowned after he fell into Netravati river while fishing on Sunday July 28.

As per the information received, at around 10.30 am, Sudheer (38) went fishing near his house.

While he was trying to get a catch for the day, it is said that he lost balance and fell into the river. As water level was deep, Sudheer could not come up and was washed away by the strong currents.

Sudheer used to go fishing on a routine basis and was a good swimmer. On Sunday, however, he was unable to swim due to the increase in the water level and the windy weather. The locals, who saw him falling into river, soon informed his family members.

Though locals searched the waters till late evening, he could not be traced.

Police have registered a case.
