Mangalore, Jul 27: “Last election was a challenge for us in which we got majority by winning 121 seats. People were tired of many untoward incidents. Hence, they blessed us in this election,” said Mahadev Prasad.
He was addressing media persons at a press meet held at the district Congress office on Saturday July 27.
“There are around 28 different co-operative societies in our state comprising of more than two crore shareholders. There are all together around 9 lac people belonging to SC/ST as members in co-operatives societies. The government has decided to pay their Vima Yojane amount through ‘Yashashwini’ amounting to Rs 40 crore. This project will be implemented soon. The state government has also planned to reduce the loan interest of women self-help groups,” added Prasad.
SCDCC bank president M N Rajendra Kumar, MLA J R Lobo, Rohan Monteiro, Suresh Ballal, Balraj, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Ivan D’Souza, Sudarshan Jain, Hilda Alva, Krupa Alva, and T K Sudheer were also present.
