Udupi, Jul 23: The inauguration ceremony of Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat Padubidri, a unit of Alva’s education foundation was held at Bunts Bhavan here on Sunday July 21.
Udupi district in-charge and urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated the new unit by lighting the lamp and wished good luck for all their ventures.
In his welcome address, Dr Mohan Alva, president of Alva’s education foundation said ‘In value based life, Alva’s education foundation is transparent in nature’. We started the institution with the aim of producing artists, enriching regional arts in students and promoting it, he said.
Dr Alva informed that Vishwa Nudisiri will be held from December 19 to December 22 in the presence of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade. As estimated, around 10 lac audience would attend the occasion
Folk researcher K L Kundanthaya in his presidential address termed Dr Mohan Alva as the representative of our state for culture. In future, Dr Mohan Alva to be a national representative, we should lend our support. If a person loves art, literature, culture then he will not lose his mental stability, he said.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by an Alva’s cultural programme.
Padubidri unit president Dr Y N Shetty welcomed the gathering and secretary Dr N T Anchan delivered the vote of thanks.
