Mangalore, Jul 9: The annual Ko Aa Udupa award will be bestowed upon Dr Dodda Range Gowda, veteran litterateur, Kannada professor who has also contributed towards the art of music, cinema and education.

This award has been instituted in the honor of Late Ko Aa Udupa founder of Yugapurusha.

Dr Doda Range Gowda, has been creatively involved in various fields including literature, cinema and classical music; he has also completed his masters degree.

Apart from Yugapurusha, he also published his writings in various other newspapers. 

He has also written 80 books, which edged his name in the field of literature. Along with that, he has also written 500 songs for Kannada films. More than 80 audio CD's have been released. He has also written more than 100 title songs for television serials.

Dr Dodda Range Gowda has also bagged various awards at the state and international level, which includes literature awards.

Ko Aa Udupa award will be presented to Dr Dodda Range Gowda on July 24 at theYugapurusha convention hall, Kinnigolli.

The award will also consist of Rs 10,000 cash, honorary memento, award certificate, said Kodethooru Bhuvanabhiram Udupa, chief president of Yugapurusha.
