Reportedly, he was angry at the fact that his uncle had made sexual advances towards his mother.
The murder was committed at Annenahalli village in Holur revenue division in Kolar district on the night of Wednesday July 3. The killer has been identified as Shekhar (25), a resident of Boodigere in Bangalore. He killed his uncle, Govindaiah, by cutting off head at the neck region. Shekhar has been taken into custody by the policemen of rural police station here.
Shekhar had planned to kill his uncle long back. During the week, he visited his native place thrice, for hatching a conspiracy to kill Govindaiah. On Wednesday evening, he came to his village with friend, Santosh, in a car. He had brought chicken with him, which he offered it to his uncle by visiting the latter’s home, duly asking the same to be cooked. He then took his uncle to a mango plantation at nearby Kondasandra along with the prepared dish, and had food in the company of the latter there. After food, he cut off the head of his uncle by using a sickle, kept the severed head in a black plastic sachet, and was dropped off in the same car at the town.
Shekhar then directly approached Parappana Agrahara jail in Bangalore and asked himself to be jailed for his crime. He also showed the severed head of his uncle to the sentry there. As this did not work, he approached the policemen of Parappana Agrahara station, where he surrendered. The policemen immediately took Shekhar to Annenahalli and took into possession the torso of his uncle from the mango plantation. In his statement, Shekhar said he took this drastic step in revenge for his uncle’s action in eying his mother.
Policemen are now on the lookout for Shekhar’s friend, Santosh, who had facilitated the murder.
