Udupi, Jul 4: Karnataka Scouts and Guides organized a street play on exploitation of women, near service bus stand, on Tuesday July 2.
The 8-minute long drama was about women’s harassment, assault, and abuse. According to them, in Karnataka, there are 626 cases registered in a year of which only four are punished. Other data indicated that many women don’t even file complaints and girls suffer more.
Also, the victims are not shown any mercy but isolated from the society. On the other hand, the culprits are free to live an easy life. All such incidents cause girls to lead a strict and restricted life. Women are always held responsible for any such happenings.
The drama highlighted the fact that this belief is not right. It questioned whether the culprits should let out freely. It queried whether there should not be any strict action against such people and if women should be left to struggle.
As per a new survey, 57 percent women go through these issues. The survey shows that there has been a drastic increase in such crimes.
