Mangalore: Wife's role suspected in murder of scrap dealer?

Mangalore, Jun 26: The mysterious death of Abdul Rashid (48), a scrap dealer in central market and resident of Kudroli, seems to have taken a new twist. The Panambur police, who had registered a case after Rashid’s body was found at Tannir Bavi beach on Friday June 21 evening, had taken up investigation.

The police personnel, under the leadership of sub-inspector, Bharati, visited the house of Rashid at Moidin Nagar, Kudroli late night on Tuesday June 25, and continued to question the family members for several hours.
It is learnt that the needle of police suspicion is now on Rashid’s wife, Naseema. It is suspected that Naseema had illicit relationship with some youth, and because of this, there were frequent quarrels between the couple.
Naseema, it is suspected, arranged for murdering her husband at home in connivance with some youth because of her grouse against him, before transporting and abandoning the body at Tannir Bavi. It is said that the policemen have found blood stains in the bedroom of the house.
The family was till recently living in Nadupalli Kudroli. They had sold their house there before shifting base to Moidin Nagar.
During post mortem, injuries were found at the head portion of Rashid’s body. The police had determined that the wound would have been caused after his head banged against a rock when he jumped into the sea.
Sources said that four persons have been arrested in the case, but police have not confirmed the arrest nor divulged details yet.
