Dubai: Roshan, Heral provide splendid musical treat at Belman Fest

Dubai, May 11: Belman parishioners and their guests at their annual feast celebration had a day to be remembered on Friday May 10. The day saw Roshan Belman and Heral entertaining the crowd with their talents. Roshan Belman, an accomplished singer and performer together with Heral presented sentimental Konkani and Hindi songs that left the guests spellbound.
The event was organised as a part of the annual feast celebrations of Belman parish. The event began at 11:30 am with random Konkani, Hindi numbers from singers like Uttam, Asha Fernandes and Mario Rego.
Once most of the guests had arrived, the main event started with a prayer session led by Preeti, Mario and Asha Fernandes.
Anil welcomed the guests and briefed about the reasons for conducting the event and about the future plans of the association.
On behalf of all the past presidents of Bethkati Association, Arthur D'souza gave a brief report. Walter Nandalike in his address congratulated Roshan and Heral on their contribution to Konkani music.
Grace Monteiro mentioned the importance of supporting Konkani talent and promised her continuous support to Konkani.
Walter Nandalike who belongs to Belman parish was the chief guest for the event. He was accompanied by Cloyd Monteiro, Grace Monteiro, Joseph Mathias, Arthur D'Souza, Roshan Belman, Heral D'Souza and Anil Cardoza for the stage function.
However, the highlight of the entire event was the felicitation of Roshan Belman. In recognition of his contribution to Konkani music, Roshan Belman was honoured with the title "Konkani Sangeetaso Yuvaras". The Letter of Honour was read out by Deepak Machado. It is worth noting that Roshan Belman has till date written, composed and produced four Konkani albums. As a singer he has sung numerous Konkani songs.
Acknowledging the honour bestowed on him, Roshan said that he was thankful to the Konkani people for their constant support and motivation.
The stage was then taken over by Roshan and Heral who sang heart-touching numbers such as Sopna, Mogi Mogi Mogi and so on. Joseph Mathias enthused the crowd with his Daina Bai Konkani song. The audience were spellbound by the Tulu and Kannada songs Moakeda Singari and Noorondu Nenapu by Harish Sherigar.
The audience were also kept glued to their seats by some foot tapping dances by Alveera Saldanha, Calida Mathais, Calisto Mathais, Inish Menezes, Ishan Menezes, Sianna D’Souza, Melissa D’Mello, Kenisha Sequeira, Rydell Tauro, Prisha Shetty and Venisha Monteiro.
Inish in the meantime entertained the guests with his guitar.
Roshan and Heral followed these with a baila number from their upcoming Konkani album which will be released on September 8.
The guests were served lunch at the venue. Russell and DJ Lancy kept the audience engaged with continuous flow of great music. Uttam was the compere for the event and managed the show with finesse.
The event concluded at 5 pm with half an hour of baila session.
