Mexico City, Apr 12 (IANS/EFE): A contemporary art fair is being held in Mexico City, showcasing the work of hundreds of both established and emerging artists from around the world.
The 10th MACO contemporary art fair, which runs until Sunday, is expected to draw about 35,000 visitors.
MACO is the largest event of its type in Latin America and will have 110 galleries from 25 countries exhibiting works, including those of Spanish artists Joan Miro and Eduardo Chillida.
The stars of the art fair, however, are Latin American artists.
MACO will have a Modern Art section for the first time this year, providing Latin American art, especially works from the second half of the 20th century, with some additional exposure.
The five-day fair, which opened Wednesday, will offer conferences, book presentations and culinary events.
